If you are looking to book your first appointment, you can call us at 902-282-9922 or email us at info@liftphysiotherapy.ca.

For returning clients or to access our scheduler, you can book and manage all your appointments online via our online portal. You’ll also get a record of all your appointments and billing history.

For your convenience, we offer direct billing to most extended health care providers.

If you’re not sure whether your health plan covers physiotherapy, get in touch with your insurance provider.

While we do our absolute best to assist all clients with billing, we are not currently set up for coordination of benefits. This means we cannot bill multiple insurance companies for one client.

Physiotherapy is considered a primary health care service. Therefore, you do not need a referral to see one of our team members for an assessment or treatment. However, some insurance companies require a referral to process reimbursements for claims 

Following your session with your physiotherapist, payment will be required in full. To help facilitate contactless payment, you can upload a credit card to your account for automatic processing. If you have extended health care coverage, we will do our absolute best to facilitate payment reimbursed to the plan member. If you are not sure the details of your plan, we recommend you get in contact with your insurance provider. 

Please note: We only process claims between 9 am and 5 pm. If your appointment is outside of these hours, you will need to pay out of pocket.

LIFT is a private clinic and is therefore not funded by OHIP. This means that you can pay for your appointment in one of two ways:

1. Via your private health plan, if you have one

2. Out-of-pocket

Please contact your health insurance provider to see if you’re covered for physiotherapy.

Unfortunately, we no longer accept motor vehicle accident claims for payment coordination. If you have recently been in a car accident, our therapists would be happy to assist in your recovery process. However, you will need to coordinate payment and reimbursement with your extended health care provider and motor vehicle insurance company as we no longer process MVA claims.

To respect our clinicians’ time, we ask that you give us 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

We, unfortunately, cannot accept any last-minute cancellations, and you will be billed for the duration of your scheduled appointment should you need to cancel last minute.

The frequency of your follow-up appointments will depend on your specific situation and will be determined by your physiotherapist.

Follow-up appointments last up to 40 or 60 minutes and may end early if your physiotherapist has addressed all your concerns ahead of time.

We will require your basic personal information, including your name, address, phone number, email address, physician details, and any extended health care information that may be required to assist with direct billing. 

Since Physiotherapy is considered a primary health care service, you do not need a referral to see one of our Physiotherapists. However, some insurance companies require a referral to process reimbursements for claims.

All initial appointments are considered assessment appointments.

Similarly, if it has been longer than six months since your last appointment, you’ll need to book an assessment appointment.

Even if you are returning for the same injury, we will need to evaluate your current condition thoroughly. This is a best practice set in place by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.

All of our physiotherapists have been formally trained to treat all areas of the body. This includes the neck, mid-back, lower back, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, hips, knees, ankles, and feet. We are also trained to treat postural conditions, such as scoliosis.

LIFT also has physiotherapists who have completed additional training in pelvic floor physiotherapy and vestibular physiotherapy.

As mandated by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, we are not legally allowed to claim that we specialize in any particular area of physiotherapy.

Step 1: Assessment

Discover the root issues behind your symptoms

We’ll go beyond the surface-level issues that you’re already aware of, to look for deeper underlying issues that may be responsible for your symptoms.

This initial appointment will last about one hour and will include a thorough intake of your health history, a full-body movement evaluation, and biomechanical assessments as needed.

At LIFT, it’s all about getting to the root cause.


Step 2: Restoration

Get a customized program to target those issues

To get you the best and most efficient results, we always use a multimodal approach at LIFT Physiotherapy in Mississauga. This means that we’ll target your concerns with a variety of treatments.

Your rehabilitation program may include treatments like manual therapy, behavioural modifications, exercise prescriptions, and other treatment modalities.

As we incorporate your new program, we’ll reevaluate your progress to make sure we’re on the right track, adjusting your treatment as needed.
