Where are you located?
We are located at 2225 Dundas Street EAST in Mississauga. The major intersection is Dundas ST and Hwy 427. We are on the North side, in the same complex as Plato’s closet, right next to the Toyota Dealership.

Is there parking?
Yes, there is ample free parking.

Do I need a doctors referral?
As physiotherapy is a primary health care service, you do not need a referral to see one of our practitioners. However, some extended health care insurance companies require a referral. Please be sure to check with your provider to determine if a referral is needed.

Does OHIP cover physiotherapy services?
LIFT Physiotherapy is a private, orthopedic clinic. We are not covered under OHIP. Please refer to our college: for a list of publicly funded OHIP clinics.

What are the payment methods?
We accept Debit, VISA, MasterCard or Cash. Please be advised that we do not accept American Express or cheques.

Do you accept extended health care?
Yes, we accept most extended health care plans. We are registered for online billing with the following insurance companies:

– The Cooperators
– Equitable Life
Please be advised that individual plans vary. We will make every attempt to assist you with your claim submissions. Please bring a copy of your insurance card to the appointment so we can help determine your coverage. If we are unable to bill directly, a receipt will be provided to you that will allow you to submit your claim after the appointment.

What type of injuries to do you treat?
We are a private, orthopedic clinic. Therefore, the majority of the conditions that we see and treat are musculoskeletal in nature. Here is a short list of examples:
1. Tendinitis/Tendinosis/Tendinopathy

3. Post ACL Reconstruction
4. Rotator Cuff strains & tears
5. Neck pain & whiplash

What can I expect in my first appointment?
Please arrive 5 – 10 minutes prior to your appointment time to complete our intake forms. During the assessment, we will take a thorough medical history based on your primary area of concern. Following the history, a comprehensive physical examination will take place, including range of motion, strength testing, neurological testing and a functional movement assessment. Providing education to our clients is of the utmost importance to us. We want to ensure that each client leaves the initial assessment understanding what their problem is and what we are going to do for treatment. We will outline a treatment plan, prognosis and expected timeline to recovery.

How long are the sessions?
Our initial assessment is one hour in length. Our follow-up sessions vary. We schedule 30, 45 or 60-minute follow-ups, which is mutually decided upon by therapist and patient, usually dependent on how much treatment is necessary. Our sessions are one-on-one with the physiotherapist. We do not have assistance that work with us.

How many appointments will I need?
Every individual is different. Therefore, we will need to conduct a thorough assessment of your primary concerns before we can determine the number of treatments that will be needed. Some injuries require a couple of sessions, while others may require weeks – months. There are many factors that will contribute to the extent of physiotherapy needed, like acuteness, severity, past medical history, motivation etc. Please rest assured that it is our goal to minimize the number of visits. We pride ourselves on encouraging a combination of treatment and independent management to optimize recovery.

What do I wear?
The area of injury will determine your attire for physiotherapy. If we are treating your upper body of neck, please wear a tank top. If we are treating your lower body, please bring a pair of shorts. It is advisable to wear running shoes for any movement based assessment that might take place.
