Pre- and Postnatal Physiotherapy​

During pregnancy, changes occur in many different areas of the body. As a result, women often experience lower back pain, incontinence, constipation, pubic bone pain, sacrum and tailbone pain, and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Pregnancy and Exercise

Pregnant and postnatal women have special needs and should therefore be seen by a Certified Personal Trainer with pre- and postnatal training.

New and expecting moms experience several changes, which increase the demand on their bodies.

Some changes associated with pregnancy include:

  • Heavier breasts
  • An increase in lifting (from the need to carry the baby and other supplies, such as a car seat)
  • Hormone changes

Your exercise program should be tailored to your unique demands so as to prevent injury and pain.
