Pre- and Postnatal Physiotherapy

During pregnancy, changes occur in many different areas of the body. As a result, women often experience lower back pain, incontinence, constipation, pubic bone pain, sacrum and tailbone pain, and carpal tunnel syndrome.

The good news is that we can manage this pain through a careful pre- and postnatal physiotherapy program.

Pregnancy and Exercise

Pregnant and postnatal women have special needs and should therefore be seen by a Certified Personal Trainer with pre- and postnatal training.

New and expecting moms experience several changes, which increase the demand on their bodies.

Some changes associated with pregnancy include:

  • Heavier breasts
  • An increase in lifting (from the need to carry the baby and other supplies, such as a car seat)
  • Hormone changes

Your exercise program should be tailored to your unique demands so as to prevent injury and pain.

Along with offering pelvic floor physiotherapy, LIFT provides customized pre- and postnatal personal training packages to provide a well-rounded program for our new and expecting moms.
