You are driving in your car on a warm summer’s day, windows down, singing along to your favourite tune. You pull up to your driveway and are overcome by the intense and sudden onset of urinary urgency. The panic increases as you rush out of the car, fumbling to find your keys and it seems like any second now you are going to lose it. You finally find the right key and curse yourself for having too many keys on your keychain and run inside to the bathroom so fast you nearly trip over the slew of toys sprawled across the floor. You are now alternating crossing your legs and dancing while you try to strip off your pants as fast as you can before your bladder bursts. You sit down on the toilet, unable to fully relax and notice that this intense sense of urgency is followed by a small trickle of urine. You force yourself to push out more pee because you can’t believe that this is it. But after you push, you realize that nothing else really comes out. Frustrated, you wipe, stand up and leave the bathroom.
